|
Brian began his career in organized sports playing for the Detroit Northwest Wolverines in the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) at age seven. From ages eight to 14, Brian played and excelled in football with the Southfield Jayhawks. During that time, Brian played basketball for the Southfield Youth Basketball program, P.A.L., and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) with the three-time national champion Motor City Maverick. In his career at Brother Rice High School, Brian was a four year starter in football, basketball, and track and field. Brian achieved All Catholic League honors in three years at Brother Rice as a star running back, and was twice given All State honors. In his senior year of high school, Brian was a part of the All Midwest team and received All American honors. Brian then accepted a full athletic scholarship to Northwestern University. At Northwestern, Brian earned the rookie of the year award, was a three year letterman, and helped his team win a Big Ten Championship. Most importantly, Brian earned a degree in communications from one of the nation’s most prestigious universities though hard work off the football field. After college, Brian became the head coach of varsity football at Hirsch High School in Chicago. Brian took a struggling program that won four games in five years to one that would reach the city championship in just one year. In the two seasons that followed under Brian’s guidance, Hirsch’s varsity football program went undefeated and won back-to-back city championships. Next, Brian ran the Agility and Training division of the Nothing But You (N.B.U) basketball program in Chicago. As a college running back at a Division-I school, I understand the importance of speed, explosiveness, balance, agility, core strength, and mental toughness in taking your performance to the next level. As a coach, I understand the importance of teaching confidence, self-esteem, and teamwork. Combining the perspectives I've built from being in both of these roles, I hope to develop a foundation of advanced training and fundamentals with young athletes that will stay with them for their entire athletic career, and propel them to the highest levels of success in sports and in life. PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY I believe that the difference between a GOOD performer and a GREAT performer is effort, determination, and an unrelenting drive to succeed. It is the things done when no one is looking and when everyone else is resting that separates champions from participants. The hard work and time to devote to your performance now will pay dividends in your successes later, whether it be through a lucrative professional sports contract or the immeasurable value of higher education. In our competitive world and in the world of sports, preparation is a MUST and success is tied to how hard you work in the offseason to MAXIMIZE YOUR POTENTIAL! |
